Kara + Blake | Boise Engagement Photographer | Raft Media

Kara and Blake are high school sweethearts. They've been together 7 1/2 years and they are still giddy around each other, I absolutely love it! All they had to do was look at one another and they started laughing. I totally believe that a couple who has fun together is in it for the long haul, and they fit this bill perfectly.
The first time she caught his eye was when she was cheerleading at the BSU field and happened to be on the big screen. [He was on the football team, a match made in heaven!] So it only made sense to do part of their engagement session in flashback mode!
Raft Media is starting a new feature where we interview the couple and share their story!
So here is Kara and Blake's Interview:

Question #1:How did you two meet?
We met in high school (Meridian High) We had math together and became friends, we both were dating other people at the time but just getting to know one another as friends. When we both became single the winter of 2005 We had a photography class together the spring semester and started dating! Blake told me later that he saw me on the big screen cheering when he was watching film of his football game at bronco stadium :)

Question #2: What's your engagement story?
Blake had planned for 3 months to take me up in a hot air balloon and propose. Riding in a hot air balloon is something I have been dying to do for a long time! So as we are waiting to go up at 6am the pilots are sending helium balloons up to check the winds. They saw that the winds above were too unpredictable and so we couldn't go up. We both were quite disappointed and we couldn't reschedule for another month. So we went up to the Boise Train Depot to take some pictures of the sunrise. While the sun was rising over the foothills, Blake got down on one knee (on a hard sheet of rock!) and asked me to marry him and I of course said yes!

Question #3: What's one of your funnest dates together?
One of the best, most romantic dates Blake ever took me on was when he drove us up to Stanley to watch a meteor shower. We stayed up until the wee hours of the morning watching from the bed of the truck and slept under the stars. In the morning we went the Redfish Lake to take pictures of the sunrise over the lake and then to the local amazing bakery before heading back home.
Question #4: Where do you see yourself in five years?
In 5 years we see ourselves being set in our careers and starting to think about having a family.

Question #5: If you guys have $50 to blow on a Friday night, how do you spend it?
With $50 on a Friday night we would get snacks and movies and spend our time just the two of us.

Question #6. Which of you is more likely to survive if stranded on an island and why?
We decided that I would survive because Blake has no sense of direction and he would probably get lost!
Question #7: What radio station do you listen to? And what song do you rock out to together?
Honestly music is one of the few things in which we have completely opposite tastes. So usually we turn the radio off and talk about our day in the car or listen to sports talk radio. The one song we can rock out to together is LMFAO's Party Rock! We like to goof around and dance like fools haha!
