FAQ

Here's some frequently asked questions, always feel free to contact me if you have any other questions!

Where are you located?
I am located in Meridian, ID. Traveling within 30 miles of here is included in your session fee. If it's more than 30 miles additional travel fees apply. Depending on the event and location we might be available to do destination shoots!
What types of sessions do you offer?
I currently offer wedding, engagement, senior, maternity and family sessions. I am available for some children's photography depending on the time of year and the age of the child.
Where do your sessions take place?
All sessions are done on location. I work primarily with natural light and conduct my sessions at the outdoor location of your choosing. Prior to your session we will discuss the style you are hoping for and possible locations and props.
What should I (we) wear?
We will discuss the style of your session beforehand and your outfit should reflect this. Bringing several outfits, props and accessories is strongly recommended. For a group of people it's recommended that your outfits compliment each other, but not match. So instead of all wearing jeans with white t-shirts, have a cover palette for the group and choose from there. Pinterest is a great resource for outfit ideas for both individuals and a group.
What props could I bring or use?
We LOVE props. Whether it's the old truck you love, a favorite hat, balloons, coke bottles, a fishing pole, a favorite picnic blanket...whatever makes you, YOU! Does your family love to play scrabble? Bring a blanket and the board game. You get the idea :)
What if it rains?
In the event of adverse weather we will reschedule for a new date. Very light rain does not normally pose a problem. I will try to contact you as far in advance as feasibly possible if we suspect the weather will not cooperate. Of course, I certainly embrace rainy days and enjoy the occasional rainy-day umbrella session!
What do I need to schedule a session?
If you are interested in setting up a session, please email me at audrey@raftmedia.com so we can start a conversation about what you're looking for and the type of session to best fit your needs! A deposit of $50 is required to reserve your session. The remainder of the sitting fee (+sales tax) is due the day of your session.
What does the session fee include?
Your session fee covers my time and talent on location for the duration of our session, as well as time spent planning and preparing,
Can I have my unedited images?
Images that have not been post-processed are incomplete and not suitable for printing or sharing. I take great pride in my craft and cannot in good conscience sell or give you incomplete work. Please take time to view my gallery to familiarize yourself with my style prior to booking your session.
Where can I print my images?
Any prints or products ordered through me will be printed at a professional lab to ensure the highest possible quality. I cannot guarantee the quality of images printed through a non-professional lab. Should you opt to purchase digital files, I recommend printing them through http://www.mpix.com for quality that is far superior to drug store printing services.
Why do digital files cost more than prints?
When you purchase a digital file from me, I relinquish all printing rights to you. You may reproduce this image as many times as you like and create as many prints and or products with it as you wish. Raft Media Photography retains the copyrights and intellectual ownership of all images.
Do you have a referral program?
There is no greater compliment than referring my services to your friends and family. All referrals that book a session with me will earn you one free digital image credit towards a past or future session.
Will you “Photoshop” my pictures?
Just as film needs to be developed, digital images need to be processed in professional editing software before they are complete. All selected images that you order  will be hand-crafted in my digital darkroom to perfect and retouch them. Select images of a certain mood or emotion may be converted to black and white if I feel it compliments the feeling of the image. We use non-destructive editing which means your photo will still look like you when we are finished with it! If you have a blemish or two or your face we can smooth those out but for the most part our photos are natural looking.
